About Christopher Newby BDS DPDS

Christopher Newby BDS DPDS graduated from Bristol University in 1993. He has subsequently worked in in several practices in the Bristol area and abroad in Australia and has gained a great deal of practical experience in general dental practice. He completed a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies with modules in crown and bridgework, prosthetics and endodontics in 2003. His particular area of interest and expertise lie in the treatment of anxious patients especially those needing difficult and complex treatment under conscious sedation.

For around the last 15 years Chris has treated around 20 patients a week on referral because of their dental anxiety or the difficulty of their dental needs. This involves large amounts of surgical work and advanced restorative work and has lead on to placing and restoring implants with the highly regarded Straumann implant system. He has been placing and restoring implants in Bristol and Clevedon for the last 6 years as well as continuing his training with further courses in further bone augmentation and advanced techniques. He recently completed the Master's course in Guided Bone Regeneration and Sinus grafting techniques at Berne University in Switzerland.

He is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry, the International Team of Implantologists, the Association of Dental Implantology, and meets regularly with the South West Dental Implantology Group for further study and to discuss complex and interesting cases.
